Training & Development Specialist – Guyana and Suriname

Location:ÌýGeorgetown, Guyana / Paramaribo, Suriname

About the Role

We are seeking 2Ìýhighly organized and proactiveÌýTraining & Development SpecialistsÌýto support, design, and deliver learning initiatives across Guyana and Suriname. This role is essential to building workforce capabilities, supporting employee growth, and ensuring alignment with regional development strategies. The ideal candidates are passionate about learning, detail‑oriented, and comfortable interacting with diverse stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, plan, and deliver training programs (technical, compliance, and soft skills) for employees across Guyana.
  • Conduct needs assessments and collaborate with managers to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs.
  • Maintain and update training calendars, materials, records, and reporting dashboards.
  • Monitor training effectiveness using evaluations, KPIs, and feedback tools.
  • Support regional Talent Management initiatives and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Manage relationships with external training vendors and educational partners.
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate policies and country-specific labor requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Training, Learning & Development, HR, or similar roles.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication in English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Strong organization, reporting, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in regional or multicultural environments and working with regional teams across LATAM or the Caribbean.
  • Knowledge of instructional design or adult‑learning principles.
  • Ability to travel within the country and occasionally within the region.
  • Spanish and Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
